Life isn’t always about being the smartest, or the funniest, or the most successful. Being kind towards others often resonates louder and lasts longer. As a therapist, I strive to make sure my clients feel heard and understood. Life often takes unexpected twists and turns, and we can all use an extra ear to listen and help us get back on track. I take a genuine and down to earth approach and I’m ready to join you wherever you are in life.

I work with clients as young as age 10. My specialty is working with couples facing challenges in their relationship, as well as helping children and teens process their parents' divorce. Outside of my specialty, I also work with teen or adult clients experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship distress, family problems, adolescent issues, life transitions, and general stress management.

Life can be tough - and we are not meant to go through life alone! Many of the individuals that I work with feel like they have gotten to a place where they feel overwhelmed and need a space to process this stress with someone other than friends or partner. These folks typically include students (from undergraduates to the doctoral level), parents of young children, and individuals in high-stress jobs (educators, healthcare professionals), and people who are exploring their own identity. I enjoy working with people 18+ in an individual setting to help reconnect with their most authentic selves.

Get counseling without going out. We have specialized in remote online counseling for over 4 years. We have several therapists with immediate openings for daytime, evening, and weekend appointments. Our online services are covered by insurance. We also offer in-office counseling in our office in White Bear Lake, MN. We believe we can all use help at various times in our life to get through stressful times, break unhelpful patterns, and see if we can live our life with more happiness. Counseling can help to sort things out, resolve past and present issues, and help clear your mind for sound decision-making.

Our therapists are empathic professionals who are trained to treat a variety of symptoms and presenting concerns from a collaborative and whole-person approach. Clinical psychologist, Dr. Nicole Ward, provides psychological evaluations at our Maplewood and Hudson clinics. As a licensed psychologist in Minnesota and Wisconsin, Dr. Ward brings a warm and relational demeanor to her work providing psychological evaluations to her clients. She earned her bachelor's degree in child psychology from the University of Minnesota, followed by a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology-both from Minnesota School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University-Twin Cities.

Taren is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Minnesota. She received her Bachelor of Science in Community Psychology and Chemical Dependency from Saint Cloud State University, as well as a Master of Arts in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School. Taren has worked in various settings including in-home therapy with children and families, as well as outpatient treatment with individuals affected by chemical dependency. Taren provides encouragement, empathy, skills, and support to help her clients grow and reach their goals. Taren enjoys working with individual adults and youth.

Laura is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Minnesota. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Wisconsin La Crosse, as well as a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Laura enjoys working with adults and adolescents. She has experience working in a state certified DBT program in an intensive outpatient setting as well as residential treatment for eating disorders. Laura brings a humanistic and person-centered approach to her practice. Laura is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to treat PTSD and phobias.

Dr. Nan C. Truitt PhD, LP Dr. Truitt completed her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology at Gallaudet University and post-doctorate training in Neuropsychology at Fielding Graduate University. She is licensed through the state of Minnesota as a licensed clinical psychologist. Dr Truitt has life span training from birth to geriatric. Her practice philosophy is to achieve excellence in the delivery of patient care and that service delivery will be brief, solution focused, and patient centered.

Dr. CJ is an Integrative, Holistic Psychotherapist. She graduated from Argosy University with a Doctorate in Marriage & Family therapy, and is also licensed in Marriage & Family therapy. Dr. CJ believes in honoring and healing the magnificence and wholeness of each individual through a biopsychosocialspiritual approach to integrated health and wellness, collaborating with and guiding her clients to navigate situations on the path of life they have chosen to explore. Dr. CJ is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Trauma Therapy, Biofeedback, and Integrative Functional Nutrition.

Curt completed his Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Saint Mary's University, and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist through the state of Minnesota. He enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults individually or in a family setting. Curt has experience working with individuals and families in many settings including community, school, home, and outpatient services. He has also received additional training and is certified in providing Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Charlie completed his Master of Arts Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, his Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology from Hamline University, and is licensed through the state of Minnesota as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Charlie enjoys working with individuals and families and has extensive experience in working with children, adolescents, and families that are affected by traumatic experiences. He utilizes a trauma-informed holistic mindset to therapy, incorporating mind and body.

Dr. Joel Schirvar is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist in Minnesota who has been practicing since 1995. He completed a Two-Year Fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Department of Neurology, Division of Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Neuropsychology Clinic, a Doctoral internship at Minneapolis Veterans Administration Medical Center, and a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology with Child and Family specialty from Minnesota School of Professional Psychology.

Drew is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He graduated from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota with a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services, and a Graduate Certificate in Addiction Studies. Drew uses an integrative style drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused and strengths-based techniques, as well as existential approaches to facilitate growth within his clients.

Katherine received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Minnesota. She enjoys working with adults, couples, and families and has experience in various contexts including community-based and out patient settings. She believes in a holistic approach to mental health and is committed to helping clients achieve their personal goals through evidence-based and strength-based approaches.

Bill Wright is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who has been practicing since 2013. He received his Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Adler Graduate School in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2010. As a husband, father and grandfather he brings many important life experiences to his work with individuals, couples, parents and families, helping them resolve difficulties and build more satisfying relationships in their everyday lives. In his spare time, Bill enjoys reading, water sports, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
