My name is Janean Stepp, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I provide telehealth therapy to individuals age 13+. I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues including serious mental illness, behavioral issues, grief and loss, trauma, crisis situations, and major life changes and transitions. One of the most important aspects of providing therapy is forming a relationship based on empathy, trust, and a safe environment. I believe you are the expert on yourself, and I want to help you identify your strengths and the coping strategies that work best for you.
I strongly believe in an empowering person centered approach and aspects of person-in-environment theories that acknowledge the impact of various relationships and communities in the client’s life. I have the most experience with aspects of CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness techniques.
I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and understanding. I also believe that therapy should be tailored to the individual; there is not a one size fits all treatment.
