Dr. Hailes (she/her) takes a warm, authentic, and collaborative approach to therapy. Her areas of interest include: Relationship issues, trauma recovery, identity development, and questions of meaning, purpose, and self-esteem. Dr. Hailes has experience working with life transitions, adjustment challenges, stress, anxiety, depression, and grief, as well as with queer, trans, poly, and immigrant experiences. Dr. Hailes believes that therapy is a generative, creative space - both playful and serious at times. She draws on psychodynamic, trauma-informed, existential, and cognitive-behavioral approaches.
Dr. Hailes received her undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and PhD in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Yale School of Medicine and her postdoctoral fellowship at the VA Bedford Healthcare System. She also has experience working in college counseling centers.
