I work with individuals, couples, children, youth and families. My approach comes from a humanistic and systemic perspective, situating each individual's experiences within the context of family relationships and societal and cultural influences. I am particularly sensitive to the ways each individual's identity in regards to gender, age, race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, class background, disability, and country of origin influences the messages they receive from society and the way they think and feel about themselves. I prioritize attuning and collaborating with each client and utilize playful and embodied approaches
When it seems appropriate I may offer drama therapy approaches. Neuroscience shows us that some deep hurts and unmet needs are held in a part of our brain that processes emotion and experience without processing words, these interventions explore emotional history without relying solely on "talk therapy".
