I specialize in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders in children, adolescents and adults as well as behavior problems in children and adolescents. I also treat those who have experienced trauma. I utilize cognitive behavioral, behavior modification, relaxation, and solution focused therapies to help clients achieve a better life. My treatment approach is to listen carefully, develop treatment goals that are important and achieveable for the client, build on the client's current skills and help to develop new life skills as well as helping the client to achieve life balance.
My philospohy is that the issues that bring an individual to treatment do not indicate that the person is flawed, but that the individual's brain learned to create reactions (e.g., anxiety) that interfer with functioning. By changing thoughts and behaviors the brain learns healthier patterns of response which replace old unhealthy habits.
My fees are based on my training as well as my 30 years of clinical experience. Because it is most beneficial to you for me to spend my time and energy helping you with your presenting problems I do not accept insurance. You can submit for reimbursement using your out of network benefits
