I am a licensed and board certified clinical social worker with more than 35 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families in teaching hospitals and in private practice. For over 20 years I was a senior social worker in the Department of Psychiatry at a teaching hospital where I provided therapy, supervised psychiatry residents and social work staff in the child and adult psychiatric clinic. I am a warm, empathic, pragmatic and active therapist with extensive training in a variety of techniques. I use an individualized approach and tailor the therapy to the client, focusing on the client’s strengths.

People who seek treatment are often burdened with the worry that it might take too long, will "not work" or will come back. Since beginning clinical practice, I have always made it my business to have my patients engage in the therapy both in and out of session, understand the therapy process and stick to one's goals. The CBT model that I use and tailor to each particular individual's need, helps empower patients to reach their goals both in therapy and beyond... in life itself.
