About
My therapy style is conversational, affirming, and strengths-based. I cultivate an environment of compassion and radical acceptance in which you feel liberated to be yourself, set boundaries, and voice your needs. The hope is that through the collaborative process of building a therapeutic relationship, it will serve as a force to facilitate change and growth in other important areas of your life. A little about me (to deconstruct the freudian veil): I am a cisgender, biracial/bicultural Filipina-Egyptian female originally from NYC. Child of immigrant parents, able-bodied cancer survivor, with two adopted pups!
I focus on multicultural strengths/concerns/conflict, repairing soul wounds from dysfunctional relationships, parental/familial conflicts, intergenerational, historical, and/or racialized trauma, spiritual/religious distress, as well as cultivating self-love and compassion as you face the daily stressors and anxieties that come with being human!
I empower clients to embrace their identities and creatively explore traditions and practices that are culturally meaningful to them. I am a great fit for individuals or couples/relationships who hold multicultural and/or marginalized identities. I am not the best fit for clients who prefer more directive or worksheet type therapy.
