Hello! My name is Heavin Schmidt and I am an LPC. I have been licensed for 10+ years and have experience working with victims of trauma, life changes, and crisis situations. I am looking forward to helping you on your journey! I am training in TF-CBT and EMDR. I also find value in Solution Focused work and crisis management. I am most interested in helping young adults navigate through life changes, crisis, and past trauma and its impact on their day to day interactions.
I have always had an interest in the helping professions. I started my career in social work as I continued to work towards a degree and licensure in counseling. I love the work because I value the impact that a single interaction can have on someone's life/perspective.
I take a client centered approach and offer my clinical opinion when appropriate. They should expect to walk through what brought them to therapy and what they hope to see different when we end.
