Hi there, I'm Heather! The desire and commitment to create meaningful changes in your life can be one of the hardest yet rewarding experiences. I believe that creating a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable is essential to my practice. I am committed to assisting my clients in making positive changes in their lives. I specialize in working with individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. I use a varied theoretical approach but always focus on client-centered topics, tailoring each session to your unique needs and goals.
Dependent upon your own goals and unique needs, I structure each session around your areas of focus. At times, psycho-education can be used to introduce new ideas, explore barriers, and/or revisit an area of need. I do believe strongly in self-care strategies, so a focus on this aspect of functioning is often addressed. Ultimately, your therapy is your own.
I believe that the creation of goals in therapy allows us to work together to achieve our desired outcomes. Throughout the process of therapy, goals are often discussed, evaluated, and re-established. We can adapt our plan at any time to ensure it’s always meaningful and relevant to you.
