I typically start with an introduction to the nervous system and how this effects symptoms and behavior. DBT distress tolerance skills as well as somatic embodiment techniques are wonderful tools to help with severe symptoms. When you feel you can regulate your nervous system, we can look at cognitive interventions to reframe thoughts to change behaviors. You are a part of your healing process.
