I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, chronic pain and/or chronic illness. Other areas of focus that I can help you with include relationship issues, anger, stress-management, physical and learning disabilities including ADD/ADHD, life-stage issues and self-esteem. My professional career began as a certified American Sign Language Interpreter in 2001 and quickly progressed into earning a Graduate degree in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin.

Hello. I am Tammy. I recently retired from school counseling. As a counselor in public schools, I have experience with children of ages 5-12. Although I have worked with children in the schools for 29 years and they are near and dear to my heart, I welcome a chance to also be able to counsel adults in private practice. I am a licensed master of social work (LMSW) under clinical supervision of Dr. Steven D. Gomez. I started my educational journey working with children who have special needs, focusing on Autism. The last few years, I have emphasized on working with young children, adolescents, and parents who have experienced multiple traumas. My outlook on working with clients' who have experienced trauma is focusing around the question of "What has happened to you". I have over 25 years counseling experience as both a mental health and substance abuse counselor. Some of those years were as a Psychiatric Medic in the military, including the Gulf War. I am committed to counseling those who are struggling with life adversities, trials and tribulations who are suffering from mood disorders, anxiety, grief, stress, substance abuse, relationship issues, and issues concerning parents of LGBT children, as well as other life stressors or disorders. I counsel mostly adults from ages 18 to 64. I use the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a primary approach to conduct therapy.
