I have had good success with working with the resolution of depression and anxiety with clients for over 35 years. I work with people who are trying to improve their marriage or reluctantly must decide another direction. Sometimes men are ambivalent about trusting therapy. While the national norm is that therapist caseloads are 70/30 % women more than men, my norm is an even split between men and women. Men do find they can make headway on stubborn relational or emotional issues. I also see adolescent boys as they make their transition into young manhood.

There are many reasons people seek counseling; regardless of the reasons, I believe an enhanced sense of self understanding and acceptance is essential in all situations (this includes understanding how past experiences have shaped the way we view ourselves, as well as how we understand relating to others). My clients are adults, adolescents, and children who need help coping with anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, abuse, educational/employment situations, family dynamics, or other problems impacting their mental health. Though I practice Cognative Behavioral Therapy, I employ a variety of methods including "talk therapy", EMDR, sand therapy, and play therapy, depending upon individual need. I strive to provide unconditional acceptance and support to my clients as they work to achieve their counseling goals. I accept Medicaid and most private insurance.
