About
After spending 14 years learning about the human brain and mind, was trained extensively in various treatments, and working since 2009 at almost all settings, I learned to focus on what you personally struggle with. There are much more to us than having a disorder. Therefore, I listen to you and know you well in order to tailor the treatment plan that fits you the most. My end goal, besides eliminating the undesirable symptoms, is helping you finding your own path and having a better quality of life. I also teach graduate students what they need to know to make the right diagnosis and apply the best most optimal treatment for it.
Fighting depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, etc is not an easy task. Since 2009, I have been working with clients who struggle with these symptoms. Applying evidence-based approaches, changing the invalid assumptions, and finding HOPE are the keys to a successful outcome, while keeping the culture and ethnicity in mind. "It is not one size fits all."
Empathye, genuine acceptance, understanding are essential to change. Many people are looking for a magic pill. Change and growth require working with a therapist who truly cares about your wellbeing and willing to listen attentively to you. Growth is only attained outside of your comfort zone, while personality transformation should be part of the process.

Healing Time Counseling / Dr. Amr Kireem's Groups
Substance Use Group Counseling
Most of our groups are functional professional who is going too far with their alcohol/drugs use. They come to us looking for a different way of life. After few days they start realizing other people in the group talk their language and have similar problems. It usually takes two to three sessions for members to feel comfortable, open up, and share their struggles. That's when they notice they need to do something about their situation and get engaged with the rest of the group. They also start to enjoy coming to the group and share their experiences.
