Life is hard and many times we aren’t taught how to navigate this human experience, often feeling lost and with limited direction. This is exacerbated by experiences in which we are invalidated, dehumanized, and abused. As a result, we may experience persistent emotional pain, isolation, shame, fear, and emptiness. My approach is led by my belief in human dignity and the well-being and rights of people who have been historically oppressed.
As a secular and humanist therapist, I focus on fostering a space that is validating to help you explore sources of pain and desired change at your pace. We explore and work through difficulties while building your strengths to increase hope and relief. I use Somatic Experiencing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Internal Family Systems.
Even when hardships and adverse experiences beat us down, we have the ability to rebuild ourselves in a way that brings meaning and fulfillment in our life. I work with individuals who have been hurt in relationships and by other humans and are looking to heal attachment wounds as well as other sources of anguish, depression, and anxiety.
