From Surviving to Thriving with a Disability
Acquiring a physical disability and processing the accompanying feelings can be very challenging to the individual. The goal of this group is to help individuals with physical disabilities acknowledge these feelings, embrace the disability experience, develop a new identity, and create new meaning in their life. By the end of the group, people who participate are expected to learn significant social skills and coping strategies to deal with daily living difficulties and gain important knowledge on issues such as self-advocacy, disclosure of a disability, ADA law, and SSD/SSDI benefits.
Anxiety Therapy Group
This group is designed for adults who struggle with anxiety. In the group we will provide psychoeducation about anxiety, teach coping skills and explore tools that can assist in decreasing anxiety, and provide support for implementing the skills into daily life. The group will be held virtually, so anyone located in the state of NY may attend. The cost is $20 per group. CIGNA insurance accepted in-network.
