Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) - Adults 18+
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced based treatment developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan. Combining cognitive-behavioral techniques for emotion regulation and reality testing with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindfulness, the DBT skills group provides a supportive environment for individuals to learn and practice the skills necessary to lead a fulfilling life. Research has shown DBT to be effective in reducing suicidal behavior, non-suicidal self-injury, psychiatric hospitalization, treatment dropout, substance use, anger, and depression and improving social and global functioning. Prospective participants are required to be in individual therapy as well.
