I truly believe that we all possess the strength to overcome the issues that life throws us. Sometimes we just need additional training and assistance from others to help us overcome life’s obstacles. In our counseling relationship, we will work together to create a genuine relationship in which you feel heard and motivated to achieve your goals. Throughout my time as a counselor, I have been able to gain experience working with those dealing with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, substance misuse, stress management, time management, ADHD, trauma, and adjustment issues.
I primarily work from Person-Centered and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches. However, I also utilize a variety of other techniques from crisis framework, mindfulness, Grief and Loss theories, Reality Therapy, role plays, and CBT that allows me to offer a flexible approach that can be adjusted to meet the needs of each client I work with.
Taking the first steps towards counseling can be overwhelming and unnerving. I admire the bravery that it takes to begin the counseling process and will treat you and your emotions with great care and respect. I am available for day time and evening appointments.
