In my work with clients and in my own therapy, I have found that discovering and addressing the root of a struggle is often more effective than treating the symptoms. In individual counseling, this usually involves processing past negative experiences and potential trauma, as well as making lifestyle changes to increase meaning and connection. In couples counseling, this means helping you and your partner not only learn how to address conflict, but also rebuild the friendship and positive attributes that form the foundation of your relationship.

For individuals, I use Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and strategies from Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, which both focus on understanding and healing past wounds. For couples counseling, I use the Gottman Method, which focuses on increasing closeness and friendship, learning to address conflict, and building shared meaning.

Our first session will be focused on learning about your relationship history, in our second session I'll talk to each of you individually, and in our third session we will build a treatment plan.
