I have 25+ years of experience working with people facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, identity issues, grief/bereavement, LGBTQ issues, parenting issues and combinations thereof. I have been in private practice since 2000. I have extensive experience working with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, parenting struggles and many other diagnostic entities. In view of the recent Pandemic our children and their parents, caregivers, and others are struggling with the day to day routine of their lives, as it has quickly changed from the norm that everyone has known. My style is caring, warm and nurturing while offering a safe and therapeutic environment.

It's not about what's wrong with you, it's about what's happened to you. I specialize in helping adults heal from trauma, PTSD, and anxiety through an EMDR lens to help desensitize and reprocess traumatic memories and emotional distress. The therapeutic space we share is supportive, non-judgemental, and confidential.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that people will do well when they can. The first step is getting to know you through the lens of empathy. It's my job to ask questions and work hard to get a sense of your experience, what it's like to stand in your shoes. Solutions and strategies are how we make the change. However, it can feel daunting and easier to just avoid. Accountability makes change. In my practice accountability means that you always have someone in your corner cheering you on, helping you identify small incremental actions and gently pushing you to follow through and create the change you are looking for.

People come to me looking for a better life experience. I believe that we all have inside of us the knowledge we need to meet all our needs, but sometimes accessing that knowledge can be a challenge. Often we repeat self defeating behaviors we have learned that once helped us cope with fears and anxiety, but are no longer working. I have helped many people identify behaviors and beliefs that stand between them and their dreams. Once you have learned to move past them, we will design and execute a vision that fulfills your spirit.

I especially love helping teens/ young adults (and their parents) with developing their independence. I'm excited to help individuals and families enjoy their lives more either by improving relationships, better managing their stage of life tasks, and also while dealing with difficult problems including Relationship/ Marital issues, Family Conflicts, Affairs, Sex addiction, Co-parenting, "Growing Up" issues, Adjusting to Divorce, Gay & Lesbian & Gender (Transgender) issues, Substance Abuse, Grief, Violence and Anger Management including Probation & Diversion involvement.

Entering a relationship with a therapist can be challenging when life is going well, so I appreciate the additional effort it takes when things aren't easy. I view our work as mutual, a partnership and my style is to be there with you as you explore. I also believe 'the work' is never truly done, but my goal is to give you the skills to continue that work outside of our time together. With couples, this work is complex because there are two histories, two brains, and scars from relationship injuries that need healing as we strengthen that bond.

I specialize in treating individuals 18 or older with depression, grief and loss, chronic illness, generalized anxiety, and trauma. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR) mindfulness, guided imagery, and other supportive therapies to assist with symptom management.

The individuals that I treat most often have varying levels of need and are at different stages in their own therapeutic process. For this reason, I am very person-centered and tailor treatment to each individual's particular needs. I work with all ages but most often with children, adolescents, and young adults. The majority of individuals that I see struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, eating disorders, self-injury, school problems, and ADHD. However, I also have advanced training in working with individuals with chronic mental health issues and personality disorders.
