About
The mind never seems to get a rest. Thinking and worry consume far too much of our attention, creating the unsettling sense that our life is not being lived but is passing us by. Perhaps we have lost touch with our natural spontaneity and deeper sense of self. Or feel overwhelmed by the fast pace and difficult moods of our world. We may also feel trapped by our personal history or by the circumstances of our current life situation. As a result, we may be confused about our feelings, separated from our center, and unable to truly appreciate the incredible reality of our life.
But here is an important truth: If we can touch the present, we can transform the past -- and develop clear thinking and peace of mind. As a psychoanalyst I have helped people of diverse educational and professional backgrounds free themselves of long-standing struggles with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and difficulties in relationships.
Therapy requires a sense of curiosity about the workings of our inner life and a commitment to the idea that we have the power to transform our selves. My work is characterized by compassion, inquiry, careful listening, and attunement, providing a shared creative space for psychological healing and self-realization to occur.
