“Survival is insufficient” comes from Emily St. John Mandel's novel Station Eleven and is my favorite quote. I want to help identify and embrace how your strengths make you unique. Then you can not only survive but also fully engage in your life. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and understand, personally and professionally, how difficult it can be to feel like you fit in. My personal experiences as someone who has often felt "different" are a part of what led me into this field, and my education and training in evidence-based practice helps me to help you feel welcomed, affirmed, and capable of overcoming barriers.

I love learning. If that means I am reading a new book, or getting to know a new person, learning drives me. I strive to meet you where you are. Learning more about you through the course of therapy allows us to create a strong foundation for therapeutic change. We all cope more effectively when we feel stable and supported.

I operate from a flexible, trauma informed perspective. I utilize several different modalities including Adlerian (play therapy techniques). I offer gender affirming letters for those for whom it is therapeutically appropriate. My goal is to create a treatment plan that meets your needs in the most effective way possible. Licensed in both Iowa and Minnesota.
