In many historically marginalized communities, mental health remains a taboo topic. Cultural stigma, lack of representation, and limited access to resources too often prevent people from seeking the help they deserve. In some cultures, mental illness is misunderstood or even spiritualized in harmful ways—leading to shame, isolation, and untreated suffering.
As a Liberian American mental health practitioner, I am deeply committed to breaking down these barriers. I strive to make mental health care more accessible, inclusive, and culturally responsive—especially for African and immigrant communities.
