Adolescence and early and mid-adulthood holds a special place in my heart, because they are such ripe ground for discovery, yet many young people get stuck along the journey. I have worked with young people for over 20 years, who have struggled with social-anxiety and shyness, neurodivergence, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, grief and loss issues, trauma, school issues, and complex family issues. While all of these can be horrific for the individual and families involved, the underlying resiliency present in each of these young people and families is the foundation that we build from in the healing process.
In order to help clients become more comfortable and familiar with what is happening inside of them, I approach therapy with hope, deep listening, and humor. By teaching coping skills and self awareness through mindfulness, utilizing the unique wisdom of the client and EMDR for trauma, I think the process of therapy can be a profoundly rewarding experience.
