I am a Licensed Mental Health and Marriage Family Therapist. I am a research oriented scholar with over 20 years of practice in counseling and academia. Among my influential professionals and mentors are Carl Rogers, Daniel Goleman, M. Scott Peck, Henri Nouwen, Abraham Joshua Heschel, and Richard Rohr (to mention a few).
These names portray a picture of my professional points of light. In spite of a lifetime of education and studies, I talked to my clients as Carl Jung oriented: He believed that a therapist's effectiveness stems from their own humanity and wholeness rather than sterile technique.
I have been effective in making clients feel at ease and comfortable to share difficult issues with trust and confidence. Some have been able to experience successful outcomes in coping with anxiety, depression, and suicide ideation. Since my twenties I have been interacting with psychiatrists and helping professionals as partners and friends.
My clients may rightly expect to cultivate in our sessions a caring heart, and a discerning mind. I integrate science and spirituality in a no threatening way.
