It’s normal as a parent to feel overwhelmed or exhausted when your teen or child are hurting and working through life adjustments, problems at school, and other major changes. Children and teens communicate through their actions due to lack of understanding the emotions underneath. My passion is to help children and teenagers who are struggling to process their emotions and work through life’s difficulties by providing a safe and warm place for them to grow more in who they are.
I utilize de-escalation and emotional regulation techniques from Trust Based Relational Intervention training and narrative techniques learned in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I support processing through art and play interventions, which is shown to support healthy intellectual, emotional, and social development.
While helping my clients process the emotions under the behaviors we see on the surface, I work to incorporate their largest source of support- their family. It can be hard to ask for help when hard life events happen. I also believe that healing can come. I will walk alongside your child and support them as they navigate changes and growth.
