Life can be hard, the world is a confusing place. Navigating the way through everyday situations can be challenging. Having someone come along side you to listen or to be a guide and suggest alternatives to behaviors that are troubling and holding you back from the life you want to live can make a difference. I have been working with people for over 20 years, helping them in their unique journeys. My emphasis is growth and change and I believe that acknowledging trauma through the individuals experience can aid in their own understanding and help to define their place in the world wherein healing can take place.
I hope to empower individuals with tools to overcome personal struggles that promote healing, growth, and change. My approach is person centered & geared toward growth, decreasing distress, & increasing self-esteem & is coupled with an existential methodology to help you make sense of your existence, & embrace personal freedom & choice.
My heart for working with people and their challenges is broad. I have enjoyed providing treatment in a variety of settings for mood/personality disorders, anger mgmt, relationship & adjustment issues for those coming out of homelessness and incarceration. I am also passionate about working w/ people who are struggling w/ gender &/or sexual identity issues.
