I, Hannah Maxwell, am an LPC in the state of Virginia with two years of clinical experience, including residential and outpatient therapy settings. I have worked with adults seeking support for depression, anxiety, trauma, school and career-related stress, substance use, and issues often associated with LGBTQ+ identities. I am a strong ally, prioritize advocating for my clients both in session and in my community, and am committed to providing care with cultural humility. I use a person-centered and strengths-based approach in therapy and work to create a collaborative relationship with my clients.
I utilize psychoeducation, mindfulness, and narrative therapy techniques to help clients create the change they wish to see in their lives. I focus on providing individualized care, understanding that effective therapeutic care looks different from person to person.
I believe in being flexible, authentic, and creative in supporting clients to achieve their goals, and I acknowledge the effects that unjust cultural systems have on an individual’s development.
