Starting to see a counselor can be a scary thing, and no matter who you are, requires immense bravery. I believe we all have a collection of stories that make up who we are, and counseling should feel like a safe space to share that story. Having been in the client seat myself, I believe that in order to create a safe space for those stories to be heard, clients have to feel respected and important in a non-judgemental, confidential space. It is an honor to be trusted with the stories people have and are striving to create.
As a mental health counselor, I use an eclectic approach, meaning I draw from multiple counseling approaches to best meet the needs of each unique client. The approaches I use most include Person-Centered Theory, Narrative Theory, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My passion is helping clients make new meaning from their life experiences.
My counseling style focuses heavily on conversations and storytelling. I am currently seeing new clients at offices in both Brookfield and Oconomowoc, and I would love to connect to hear more about your needs.
