I work with clients struggling with behaviors like avoiding conflict, people-pleasing, or shutting down or exploding when upset. My ideal clients are adults 18+ who want to create more enjoyable lives through better understanding and managing emotions, improving relational skills, and increasing self-compassion while learning to access and trust their inner wisdom. As a stepparent, I also enjoy working with clients contemplating or going through divorce and/or remarriage, supporting them as they navigate the sometimes confusing, challenging, and uniquely rewarding experiences of separation, rebuilding, and blended family life.
I am warm, compassionate, inclusive, and nonjudgmental in my work with clients. Through a psychodynamic and attachment-based lens, I help clients better understand themselves and how their pasts shaped them while teaching skills to improve functioning in life and in relationships. I am trained in EMDR and incorporate this when appropriate.
I'm not a therapist who will stare at you silently and nod occasionally. I'll be getting in there with you, talking about anything you need to (I've heard it all!) from work and relationships to sex and strange bodily functions. Some of our work will feel serious and we'll also laugh a lot. I hope to create a safe space where you can put it all on the table.

I work with clients to help them learn how their past impacts their present, understand what skills (healthy and 'unhealthy') they learned to cope with life's challenges, replace destructive/unhelpful behaviors with more adaptive strategies, and to grow a sense of self-compassion and self-trust. I strive to be supportive, warm, and nonjudgmental so you can show up as your true and authentic self.

I use a combination of attachment-based and psychodynamic therapies and use EMDR for treating trauma when appropriate. I aim to help my clients better understand their emotions, the ways they tend to handle their emotions, and how their relationships (past and present) and learned ways of relating are impacting them in the present. This often involves skill-building and increasing self compassion
