We all experience periods in our lives when we need additional support. Whether you are confronting a major life change or just haven't been yourself lately, as your therapist I will listen carefully to understand what you are experiencing. My main goal is to give you perspective on the problem and help you identify the route by which you would like to move through it. When needed, I teach coping skills drawn from my own use of mindfulness, as well as relaxation, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation techniques. With your permission, I collaborate with your medication prescriber as needed.
Although I specialize in the treatment of severe trauma, understanding this process allows me to work with individuals coping with a variety of stressors. I work with many doctors, nurses, social workers, and other professionals in the mental health and human services fields on the emotional demands of this type of work.
My New Haven office has free parking and is on the 228 bus and Yale shuttle routes. It's a short walk or bike ride from downtown New Haven and the East Rock neighborhood.
