Hello there. I'm Hannah, a collaborative-narrative based therapist. We know the conditions of living bring us immense change and often losses. Whether the loss of a person, health status, our purpose, or even era of life, losses evoke transitions and often significant pain. Our equilibrium of how we make sense of ourselves and our lives changes after loss. Somehow, the world continues on as we do the work of mourning and rebuilding our lives. It's hard, isn't it? The reality of what drives our pain cannot be changed: loss. Something or someone is missing, maybe it even feels a like a part of us died too.
Those are the experiences I help people with: Death, loss, illness and anticipatory death, compassion fatigue. Therapy together is collaborative and often includes elements of exploring the loss event, the impact on self and relationships, unfinished business, and reconstructing meaning.
Professional helpers are also someone I love to work with. These are fellow therapists, healthcare workers, public defenders, spiritual workers, activists; those who are exposed to suffering and want to stay healthy and connected to their work. No one wants to be crispy with burn out, vicarious trauma, or compassion fatigue. We all need some help sometime!
