I am a disabled and neurodivergent Korean-American art therapist and art educator with an extensive background in working with people of various ages and abilities. As an art therapist, I enjoy operating from eclectic frameworks that critically examine dominant ideologies while providing opportunities for dismantling systemic barriers and recontextualizing issues by examining how these norms shape self-concepts and realities, especially for those who do not identify with dominant cultures.
As a 1.5-generation immigrant who has worked with others with disabilities for most of her career, I understand this experience in an embodied way and seek to help others navigate the unique realities of existing in spaces where they may not feel truly understood. I work from a strengths-based perspective to empower clients and increase understanding.
I am a passionate proponent of using the arts to provide a variety of supports for historically marginalized populations. Working with and advocating for diverse communities has allowed me to explore art-making as an unlimited means of honest expression and personal growth.
