Many clients enter therapy feeling stuck and incapable of change. Together, as a team, we will look for themes and patterns in your life that may cause frequent feelings of shame, depression, frustration, and anxiety. I have experience working with trauma/PTSD, grief, depression, anxiety, relational difficulties, academic issues, body image and low self esteem. I am trained in a range of modalities including CBT and DBT, but overall, I am person-centered, attachment based and psychodynamically oriented. Thus, I approach therapy from a trauma-focused lens, providing a safe space for clients to process all thoughts and feelings.
I believe that the foundation of a rich, healing therapeutic experience is the relationship between the client and therapist. This is because therapy is relational and collaborative. With a warm sense of humor and a relatable personality, I do not believe that therapy is “one size fits all.” I tailor my approach to meet my clients where they are.
Starting therapy can feel challenging, intimidating, and scary. (And if you’re feeling this way now, that’s normal too) However, when you find a therapist that’s fitting for you and are committed to working on yourself, therapy can be life changing.
