About
I truly believe in the power of the horse-human relationship to promote growth and healing. I earned my Ph.D in Counseling from the University of North Texas and am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). I have pioneered two innovative models for the practice of equine assisted counseling: Relational Equine-Partnered Counseling (for older children, adolescents, and adults) and Equine-Partnered Play Therapy (for young children).
Horses are aware of everything (and everyone) in their environment and have a high level of attunement in perceiving human experiences. They will provide you with feedback during your interactions together that can assist you in gaining insight into thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that you may be struggling to understand.
The horse is a true partner in your healing journey. During your time with your chosen horse, you will have the opportunity to take risks as you try to create new and healthier patterns for interacting in the world and meeting life's challenges.
