About
I strive to meet my clients with warmth, openness, and creativity. Therapy can provide a safe space to heal and even to experiment, so that we can discover new and more fulfilling ways-of-being within ourselves and with others. Issues I commonly work with include relationships, life transitions, self-esteem, anxiety, depression and trauma. I value helping clients to understand the impact of past experiences on their present life, but I also focus on the here-and-now and bodily awareness in sessions to deepen processing and understanding beyond an intellectual level.
I have extensive training in trauma treatment, including EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and Deep Brain Reorienting, body-oriented approaches to healing of trauma (which also have relevance to many other areas of treatment). I combine these with talk therapy, tailoring my approach to the needs and preferences of the client in a flexible, collaborative approach.
Finding the right therapist is a very personal process, and I am happy to provide a phone consultation at no charge to see if we might be a good fit. I understand that starting therapy for the first time can be daunting and confusing, and I hope to make you feel safer and more comfortable with this process.
