My passion is to connect with kids that is more natural and comfortable. It can be hard and uncomfortable for kids to "talk" about personal and difficult emotions. Because of this, my focus is on utilizing expressive therapies to help children sort through and process emotions and events through art, playing games, structured and unstructured play, etc. all while helping them to identify their own strengths, how to use those strengths to overcome the challenges they are facing, and work toward an optimistic future!
I believe in following the lead of my clients and striving to create a safe and judgment free space where they will feel heard, acknowledged, and supported. Since children express emotions through action, I use expressive therapy for the simple reason that play is how children (of all ages) communicate.
Many kids experience difficulties with day-to-day activities such as school, family time, sports, and in socializing with other kids and sometimes no matter what you might try to do to help, things do not seem to get better. It can take an army to raise children, and I am passionate about doing all I can to offer you and your child a more hopeful future.
