Through some of the most deep betrayals in life, it is my honor to come along couples and individuals as they navigate their way through devastating times, such as infidelity, emotional neglect, psychological and emotional abuse, abandoment by others or even of self. Through IFS Therapy I provide a unique hand on approach for the client to explore and make sense of what they are experiencing. The therapist guides the client how to unburden & rebalance the parts so that the core self-qualities can become clearer.
The Internal Family System (IFS) approach holds the belief that we all have “parts” within ourselves, sub personalities, which have different perspectives, motivations, goals, memories, and pain. IFS is a non-pathologizing approach which holds the belief that every part has a positive intention, even if it comes across as counterproductive.
Infidelity work starts with assessments and psychoeducation over the recovery process/timeline, and PTSD. Risk factors and history are explored in individual sessions. We come back together for the disclosure process before moving towards behavioral reconstruction goals, while learning how to rebuild trust and intimacy.
