Validating and normalizing therapy and mental health in the black and poc community is a passion of mine. As someone who has personal experience trying to understand and navigate mental health in a family/community that is taught to stay quiet, I believe it is my duty to help guide others to find their voice. I want to teach others that therapy is okay, having mental health issues is okay, and ultimately it is okay to not be okay!
I believe the clients are the experts in their own lives. It is important to treat clients holistically by taking the entire human being and their life experiences into consideration for assessment and treatment purposes. My approach is to encourage and empower individuals into finding the answers they have within themselves while I act as a copilot
