I am a Latinx therapist and part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I enjoy working with neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+ clients, and/or clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. I can help clients who may be going through life transitions, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, or may be experiencing issues related to acculturation and the emotions that may cause. I have informed my practices around trauma, inclusion, connection, and sense of belonging. I enjoy learning from the people I serve and provide care to. I believe that developing a good therapeutic connection is key to a successful treatment.
As a neurodiversity-affirming therapist and I approach therapy with the understanding that autism, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Tourette’s syndrome (TS), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), dyslexia, dyspraxia are not “issues to be cured or solved”, but different neurotypes with unique needs, strengths and challenges.
Sometimes we are so overwhelmed that it becomes difficult to find hope and believe that things can improve. I believe that you know what is best for you; and my role is to simply help you develop some tools and become more aware of your inner strength and what is holding you back, so you make the decisions needed to overcome the challenges you are facing.
