Everyone is met with challenges at times, and life can throw us curveballs that are unpredictable and difficult to manage on our own. I work with individuals and couples dealing with anxiety, parenthood, life transitions, grief, long term illness, and relationship and family issues. Therapy is collaborative, and together we will build a safe and compassionate space to explore and learn more about yourself. If you've never been in therapy before, or haven't found the right person for you, I will work with you to make sure it feels like a good fit, and a place you feel comfortable sharing your truth.

I feel especially capable to treat trauma, depression, grief and loss, anxiety, and major life transitions.
Currently accepting new clients! It takes tremendous courage to turn the spotlight inwards and work on ourselves. I consider it a genuine privilege to walk alongside people as we navigate their struggles and successes. It is why I have such deep respect for the people who walk through my door. If you are that person, know this: ALL of you is welcome here. Meaningful relationships are central to our well-being, just as much as water or air; however, they often are the source of intense pain. Our therapeutic work will be built on a foundation of trust, and focus on developing the relationships with yourself and others you deserve.

Whether you are facing conflict or stress, family transitions, relationship rough spots, chronic illness, death, or other life challenges, it can be helpful to have a professional assist in navigating through your time of uncertainty and discomfort.
Change can be hard. It can be scary, overwhelming, and can produce fears. It is different than what we know, different than what things are like today. Change happens no matter what; it is the one constant that we all experience.

Your therapy can be brief or long-term, depending on your needs. So, allow me support you as you get unstuck, find your passion, and enjoy your life to its fullest.

As an experienced anxiety, relationship, self esteem and grief therapist, I believe that opening up, getting support and facing your challenges can be transformational.
Do you find yourself anxious and worried no matter what you do? Challenges connecting in relationships? Getting stuck in negative thoughts about yourself? Feeling like your grief and pain might consume you? You may be at your limit with how anxiety, relationships, self esteem or grief are negatively impacting your life and maybe you feel powerless to change it. You might not remember a time when things felt better. One thing is for sure: you are ready for some relief. You are ready to not feel anxious all the time, to have connected relationships, feel positive about yourself and honor your grief in healthy ways.

Grief, loss, death, dying, moving to memory care, etc - these aren't dinner table conversations folks want to have.
Currently accepting new clients for telehealth in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Florida as well as Supervisees in MN who are seeking LMFT/LPC/LPCC licensure. My clients are often either grieving, caring for a parent or spouse, or experiencing their own chronic or terminal illness. Oftentimes I help families have hard conversations about end-of-life decisions and potential moves into residential long-term care. It's true, there is always something more pleasant to talk about. And these conversations need to happen, too.

I have experience with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, spirituality, self-worth and being an empath or a highly sensitive person (HSP).
I believe that transformative healing can happen when someone feels seen and heard, especially in their own language within a safe space. I am a Deaf psychotherapist and use ASL. I believe that we are multi-dimensional human beings and that we are also a lot like nature, therefore I bring more than just talk therapy in sessions utilizing the mind, body, spirit, and energy. I welcome all parts of you that are willing to show up and not here to tell you what I think, what you should do nor fix you. I will be honored in providing you space and cheer you alongside every step of your journey until you come to the feeling of home.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
