We all find ourselves in circumstances at one time or another that call for adjusting to change or making decisions, whether it's charting a path through grief and loss, developmental transitions, job loss, recovering from trauma or the challenges of parenting. Therapy can be helpful in sorting through confusing thoughts and feelings, gaining insight, establishing a course of action amongst different choices, and building confidence through experiencing a deeper understanding of yourself, all in the context of a caring relationship.
My experience spans the developmental spectrum from 4 to older adults ranging from divorce adjustment, school issues, and social concerns for children, to depression/anxiety, bereavement, life transitions, etc. for adults and couples. Approaches include CBT, relaxation techniques, and Play Therapy for children.
I ascribe to a systemic orientation that considers developmental stages throughout the lifespan, w/in a context that includes both 'nature and nurture'. I am acutely aware of the significance of "fit" in any therapeutic relationship, and that trust is of utmost importance in taking the necessary steps toward change.
