My training is rooted in systems theory (we react and interact in relationship to others, not in isolation), attachment theory (we are all born with a wired in need to connect with others--how are we getting those needs met/not met?), interpersonal neurobiology/mindfulness, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), CBT and Narrative therapy.
Areas of special focus and training for me have been: Relationship transformation, life transitions, trauma recovery (adult survivors of childhood abuse, divorce, life after cancer/illness), and issues of general self awareness/identity. I have advanced training in couples therapy (EFT), pre-marital (Prepare-Enrich) and Discernment Counseling, for couples on the brink of divorce.
