I also help with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, grief, interpersonal and sexual violence, abuse, and relationship issues.
My style is heavily collaborative with my clients, and I work hard to ensure clients feel comfortable and heard regardless of identity or background. I make continual efforts to stay educated, and my passion lies with underserved populations in need of safe places to seek counseling. Sessions are goal-oriented, strengths-based, and my role more like a Virgil to a client's Dante; I intend to serve as a gentle and informed companion on a client's personal journey.

Are you seeking trauma-informed care that integrates mind and body? Does cognitive behavioral therapy feel limiting and impersonal to you? Are you curious about cultivating a deeper, more compassionate relationship with your inner emotional life? Is it important to you that your therapist is LGBTQ+ affirming and social justice oriented? If so, my approach may be a good fit for you. I enjoy working with individuals (16+) and couples who are coping with issues related to anxiety, depression, relationships, life transitions, academic challenges, identity, self-esteem, loss, and trauma.

Beneath your fights about dishes are valid needs that deserve to be heard, seen, and valued. Let's get you more connection and less tension in the relationship. I also work with individuals navigating recovery from high-control childhoods and romantic relationships, including religious trauma and loved ones with personality disorders like BPD. Let's explore who YOU are and what you authentically want outside those institutions and relationships. Attachment work, grief, identity processing, and trauma are uncomfortable parts of the human experience. We'll work together to see how they show up in your life. You deserve more peace.

I have extensive experience providing treatment for anxiety, grief, and trauma to individuals, in addition to the issues listed on the side of this page.
Life can be challenging. Whether we’re falling apart, experiencing minor setbacks or even doing relatively well, it can be really helpful to have someone to talk to. I hold a strong conviction that there is no issue too big or small to justify seeing a therapist.

I get it, reaching out for help can feel intimidating and confusing. That is why I work to make people feel comfortable and accepted. I try to make the therapy process enjoyable with humor and affirmation. My approach is collaborative as I view therapy as a form of partnership. I have worked with both adults and children with a range of diagnoses including, autism, anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, ODD, ADHD, emotional regulation, grief, life transitions, and self esteem issues. I believe that people are more then their diagnosis and that our mistakes do not define us, but are opportunities for growth.

I treat a wide range of concerns, and specialize in depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem, and life transitions.
Ahhh, spring! Longer days, more sunshine, and the traditional time to do a thorough cleaning. Why not include your brain this year? Let's weed out old thoughts and beliefs that don't fit anymore, sweep out the cobwebs of negativity, and generally spruce up the space between your ears to be a more pleasant place to spend time. Just like with material things, if it's not bringing you joy, peace, or any positive benefit - why are you holding onto it?

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
