I bring the ability to deeply hear the narratives clients are living and create a therapeutic environment where healing and transformation become possible. I focus on treating clients who have lived through complex childhood trauma and its effects, and those living with the effects of marginalization, adoptive and/or foster narratives, and perfectionism. I also enjoy helping with relationships, body image, OCD, self-discovery, identity development, grief/loss, and parenting. My integrative approach meets clients where they are and invites a process that includes the mind, heart, and body in growing self-awareness and wellness.

I have openings. Are stress, depression, and/or anxiety preventing you from moving into the next, productive stage of your life? Are you sad? Irritable? Awake at night? Fatigued? Isolated? Loss of pleasure? Thoughts of guilt and worthlessness? Struggling to concentrate? There is help. My purpose is to help people decrease the crippling power of depression, anxiety and stress by building action and change. Change takes having a plan, encouragement, tools, effort, accountability, and re-evaluation. I will work with you to develop, and take, practical steps towards reaching your goals. It will not be an easy process but it is doable.

I work with individuals and couples to address relationship concerns, work-life stress, career and academic burnout, wellness, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and life transitions.
Would you like to be living a more meaningful, authentic life? Many of the people I see struggle to prioritize themselves for a variety of reasons. This can often lead to feelings of burnout and loss of motivation. Taking time to reconnect with what matters most and identifying your next steps can be a transformative experience. Whether you are looking to increase insight, improve your relationship, or become a better version of you, therapy can be a very useful tool. I will work collaboratively with you to identify your unique needs and provide a place for you to pursue the changes you seek.

Not accepting new patients at this time. I believe that each person has inherent worth, wisdom and the capacity to develop in ways that can lead toward wholeness and renewed energy for life. My main job is to co-create a therapeutic container where inner and outer healing can take place. I believe that when we listen to psychological symptoms, instead of ignoring or resisting them, we are more likely to find out what is out of balance and needs further integration in ourselves.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
