As a therapist, I have helped countless clients overcome depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief.
Depression and anxiety are some of the most debilitating conditions that a person can face. Caught in their grips we may feel overwhelmed and paralyzed. We may start to think that we are broken or that something is wrong with us. Not realizing that such conditions are far more common than we think. What makes it even more difficult is having nobody to speak to about our experience. You’ve dealt with this alone for long enough; let me show you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Imagine the dark cloud of depression lifting from your mind. See your anxiety melting away like ice in the sun.

Is it because I’m human? Is it because I haven’t bored you to death with the obnoxiously long list of things i can do? Awesome! Great! Might as well touch base because therapeutically, I tend to get things done.
When a client comes to me for therapy, they are seeking some way to not just share their problems but to find solutions and remedies based on their own effort. The point having therapy is for the individual to be able to find their own answer based on what works for them and created on their terms. The reason that people would want to achieve this autonomous feeling is because this develops into a security that the individual can feel confident in themselves to rely on themselves when tackling life’s problems and everyday obstacles.

I have expertise in various conditions: depression, anxiety disorders, family, relationships, parenting issues, grief and loss.
As an experienced therapist I believe that everyone owes to him/herself to live a satisfying life. If you do not like the place you are in today - do something not to be there. As Einstein said, "Nothing happens until something moves". Choosing therapy is definitely the right move for you. It is not a sign of weakness but rather of your determination. Whatever problem you are facing today: anxiety, depression, disturbing relationship, or work related stress - I am here to help you facilitate changes that will allow you to reach your goals.

My clients come in for many different reasons, including difficulties with loved ones, low self-esteem or feeling lost, creative blocks, ongoing effects of trauma, grief, and chronic or terminal illness (own or loved one's).
I'm accepting adult, teen, and couple clients. Therapy gives us a safe relationship where we can explore our inner world and consider taking new risks in our outer one. To my mind, therapy is the process of talking things over with someone and, together, giving meaning, hope, and clarity to pain, confusion, or stuckness. I endeavor to bring respect and curiosity to our work together. I believe that we each have the wisdom to solve our problems, but our strengths get blocked when we experience trauma, or linger in negative cycles with loved ones. In our work together, I aim to help you reconnect with your innate ability to thrive.

My approach to therapy considers that the mind and body are integral parts of a whole being. Achieving balance between these parts is an important component of the healing process and my goal is to help clients achieve this stability. Anxiety and depression can be unbearable and sometimes immobilizing; relationship problems can weaken our capacity for experiencing happiness; death, divorce and trauma can leave us hopeless and empty. My therapeutic approach strives to help client's emotional wounds heal in order to regain inner peace and improve personal growth.

I can help you improve your relationships, navigate difficult life transitions, cope with anxiety and depression, and move through a grief process.
What if you could get more guidance and support while going through a tough time? What if you could have better relationships with others? What if you could improve your communication? What if you could become more confident and self-aware? What if you could finally talk about sex and have your needs met? I know it's not easy to ask for help and I understand what it is to feel frustrated or alone. Together we can figure out why you might be feeling lonely or stuck and find solutions.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
