Announcement icon I am fluent & comfortable providing online therapy. I have had recent training specifically for COVID Sensorimotor therapy & EMDR.
I work with people facing a wide variety of life challenges including depression, anxiety, family conflict, adoption issues, parenting challenges, career transition, bereavement- including complicated grief, and addiction recovery. I use a EMDR as well as other supportive approaches blending psychodynamic, CBT, IFS, Sensorimotor, and mindfulness. I listen to what clients see as most important and use this as a starting point. I provide long or short term therapy according to the needs/interest of each individual. I have provided online therapy since 2011.
My post-grad includes the New York School for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy with recovering alcoholics, Smith College doctorate on grief associated with September 11, adoption competent therapy, complicated grief, & certification for EMDR for trauma, phobias, and anxiety. I am an anchor faculty at the Institute For Contemporary Psychotherapy Trauma Program.
I see many artists, musicians, free-lance workers, students, writers, and creative parents in my practice. I also specialize in working with people struggling with complicated grief including parental grief and bereavement from suicide. About one third of my clients are POC.

Rose Latino's Groups

Adoptive Parent Support Group

Adoptive families face challenging behavior & unique qualities not experienced by other families. Many adopted kids have special emotional and developmental needs which can make parenting a bit more difficult. Adoptive parents require information and skills for conversing about issues and feelings that exist only in adoptive families. This group focuses on the developmental phases of adoption, practical guidance about limit setting, and provide a supportive environment to explore parents feelings and needs. I've shaped this group based on my experience as a child and adolescent therapist, as well as an adoptive parent. Meets 1st and 3rd Tuesdays monthly.

Bereaved Parents Support Group

The death of a child is the most distressful experience that can happen to a parent. Because the loss is out of order, the pain more intense, the process of acute grieving takes longer. This monthly group is for parents in need of a place to talk openly about their loss experience with other parents who will know and understand. I will provide psycho-educational materials for coping with complex grief and suggestions for self care based on my training as a complicated grief therapist. New Members: please call/email me to schedule an in-person/phone consultation prior to joining the group.

Bereavement Related to COVID19

This is an ONLINE group for people who have lost loved ones due to the Coronavirus. The experiences of this grief differ from ‘regular’ grief and loss. The loss of being with a dying loved one, changes in memorials, and the loss of other bereavement traditions affect us all differently. This group provides a place for processing and healing. We’ll meet via Zoom until this quarantine is over though, for those checking in from beyond NYC, I’d be glad to provide an ongoing online group. Limit to 10 members. Start Date: March 2021.
