Do you struggle with self-confidence or anxiety? Have you experienced grief or gone through trauma? Are you going through the adoption process or struggling with your identity as an adoptee? This can all greatly impact our personal and professional lives. It can make us want to retreat, isolate, and see ourselves in a negative light. Doing this, in turn, can lead into potential depression and not feeling like ourselves anymore. Yet, life has so much to offer, and you are here for a reason. You have a purpose and deserve to live a beautiful, happy and fulfilled life where you feel confident and capable of conquering those anxieties.

Past experiences and traumas (including those in childhood) can create an internal fragmentation of self - disconnecting us from our inherent wholeness and worth, and causing us to view and experience life as something to be survived rather than lived. This can manifest in emotional suppression, dissociation, feelings of worthlessness, relationship difficulties with self and others, lack of bodily autonomy and safety, repressed grief, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, etc. Healing through these experiences will require you to make the courageous journey back home to your heart and soul - back to the very essence of You.

I work with those motivated to self understanding, growth and positive change. Life often throws us out of balance creating adverse symptoms, such as grief, depression, anxiety. Perhaps, you have a history of trauma that continues to effect you in life, work, or relationships. Or there is tension in your family system, marriage, relationships, and/or career. Whatever it is that "isn't working" there is a way to move through it... sometimes we just need a little guidance and extra support. I am that guidance and support, to lead you into a state a mind-body-soul balance.

I have experience in helping adolescents and adults struggling with substance use, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, self-esteem, relationship, and family issues.
I believe the most important relationship we have in this life is with ourselves. Therapy can offer us a deeper understanding and connection with ourselves. Learning to love ourselves is a difficult process and is also very transformative and healing. I like to approach therapy with the ideas of helping a client develop a safe and trusting relationship with themself and to also approach themself with curiosity and compassion. I believe in the healing power of our minds and bodies and love to help clients learn how to cultivate this for themselves.

I enjoy working with individuals struggling with hardships around trauma, anxiety, shame, body image, grief, life transitions, and relationships.
Exclusively offering Telehealth sessions at this time. We are wired for love and belonging; however, often we are faced with experiences that leave us feeling lonely, stuck, and afraid to take the needed risks in order to experience connection. I believe one of the bravest things you can do is ask for help along the journey. Therapy is a place where you are able to be still, explore the places in your heart that are left unknown to you, and consider making wanted changes in your life. It can help you heal, develop healthy patterns, find hope, and experience a freedom that allows you to feel more connected to yourself and others.

Do you feel overwhelmed or stuck with a life change, loss or trauma? Are you desiring change and fearing it at the same time? When we go through life changes, loss or trauma we can get turned around and have a hard time finding our ground again. Sometimes we lose touch gradually, over years of not being seen or heard. Not feeling safe enough to speak our truth or be who we really are. This can show up as depression, anxiety, or feeling stuck and unable to trust ourselves. Sometimes it’s just a feeling of emptiness on the inside, even though things look good on the outside.

Grief, depression, and anxiety are also common struggles I've helped people through.
Life can be very challenging and overwhelming, and our natural tendency is to freeze or flee from our issues. However the best solution is to walk through them, and I can help you in that process. I like to listen intently to hurting or frustrated people who are stuck in addictions, toxic relationships, depression, anxiety, and confusing situations and help them come up with solutions that will work. It's important to feel supported when we're overwhelmed, and I make that my primary goal.

I’ve lived and worked in rural areas most all my life, therefore I’ve needed to be ready to meet with people who have all types of concerns : depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, grief, life changes, alcohol/drug issues or the death of a beloved pet.
Life can get hard, unpredictable and messy sometimes, especially over the last couple of years! Feeling lost and confused, is part of having a human experience. It's ok not to have all the answers right now, and it's even ok if you've stumbled and fallen. Nobody does this "life thing" perfectly. Maybe, you are considering changing some part of yourself or your life. Great for you!!! It takes a lot of courage to get to that place. Asking for guidance or help is a huge step and it's healthy!

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
