I am president of Alongside Counseling, Inc., a Licensed Professional Counselor engaged in private practice. I have been licensed since 2008 and approved to supervise counselors since 2014 by the state of Missouri; certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors; trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy [EMDR], Emotional Freedom Technique and/or Energy Therapy [EFT] and Dialectical Behavior Therapy [DBT]. I earned Masters of Arts degrees from both Lindenwood University and Covenant Theological Seminary.

During the human experience, we will have struggles along the way. There are times we don't understand our own actions. We decide to take one approach to solve our problems and find ourselves doing something opposite of what we intended on doing. It is in those moments that we ask ourselves "How did I get here?" As a counselor for over 16 years, I partner with people to find their answers and to unlock their solutions. I have a solution-focused approach that assists clients in reestablishing balance, developing coping skills, and educating them on techniques and strategies to improve their capabilities.

I specialize in mental health issues including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, learning disabilities, physical disabilities (including sudden onset), hearing loss, stress management, divorce and employment-related issues, including career changes and job loss.

I started to work in the Psychology field in 1989. I have experience in counseling many different clients from several different backgrounds. I provided personal counseling for employees, individual and group counseling for adolescents an adults. Currently, I provide Couples/Marriage Counseling and Individual Counseling for adults. I hold a BA in Psychology, and earned my Masters degree in Community Counseling from the University of Missouri-St.Louis.
