Our clients enjoy humor, are honest, and are wanting to try new things if it makes sense to them. Some want relief from depression, or various forms of anxiety including trauma and grief. Others struggle with addictions and addictive behavior and are looking for ways to feel more in control. Or, they have concerns about their kids, ADHD, autism, or other behavior, and would like someone to come along side them to help support them or their child. Services are also available in Spanish. We want to build a good working relationship (the biggest factor in success), aside from finding personal strengths and resources of each person. We use evidence-based practices to find hope. We favor a direct approach to talk about what each person wants (client goals, not ours), so each person feels heard, understood, respected, so that no one feels alone.
Our goal is to see some kind of progress by the fourth session, which can be predictive of final outcome. Therapy is like any other relationship. Finding the right person is important. Any given therapist can work well with one person, and not another, so the right match is the most important. Also, we want to provide different choices in treatment planning.
