My approach to therapy is grounded in a relational perspective, with a particular focus on attachment, trauma, and grief.
Hello and Welcome! I understand that taking this step requires courage, but please know I am here to support you, and we can get through it together. As your therapist, I am committed to co-creating secure and settled spaces and journeying alongside you so that you, as the client, can experience healing, freedom, and hope as we explore the different parts of your story. Sitting with you as you discover what is most genuine and authentic about yourself is an honor and privilege. Working together, we will look inward toward the core self and explore ways of cultivating a more profound sense of self-compassion, empathy, and growth.

In this life, it is impossible to come out unscathed. As we journey forward we continue to accrue new scars, bruises, and scrapes. It often seems the world asks that we simply put a band-aid on our deep wounds and keep moving; when so often our injuries and brokenness need more attention and care. As a therapist I take a very relational approach to counseling. I enjoy working with motivated and insightful, teens and adults who are looking for help with trauma recovery, anxiety & depression, grief & loss, ADHD, and life transitions.

It drives us to persevere in our journey to create the best version of ourselves we can imagine. Whatever your current issue is, I would be honored to be considered for the role of your counselor/companion.

I also specialize in grief and loss.
If your relationship is hurting, I want to help you regain what has been lost or even build the relationship you've always wanted. Maybe you've lost trust, lost sight of the love you once had, or lost connection with your partner. Maybe you and your partner have lost the ability to communicate, constantly getting stuck in a cycle of misunderstandings and arguments. You may have tried all you know to do, and lost your sense of self and purpose as well along the way. Whether you are grieving damage or disconnection to your relationship, or just plain want a better relationship, I know that repair and growth are possible.

I’m passionate about working with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions, grief/loss, relationship, and family conflict.
Have you been stressed or anxious about something, and / or sad at the same time? Most of my clients have anxiety related to something in this world these days and sometimes depressive symptoms accompany that. I can help you move through difficult feelings, improve your relationships, and change unhelpful patterns that you are stuck in. I listen without judgement and give you a safe space to share openly, using a Strengths-Based / Empowerment perspective. I’ll help you discover heathy traits and skills that you already possess, while helping you to learn new skills to cope with current circumstances.

Death and grief, sexual trauma, religious trauma, major world shattering experiences that must be processed.
You keep looping around the same negative thoughts, and the same feelings of anxiety and being insecure. Overtime, you notice patterns and experiencing seasons of hopelessness, vacillating with attempts at therapy or wellness trends. You are willing to take action but you are afraid that nothing will change. Ultimately feeling unsafe in relationships that you think should feel safe. Not knowing if it’s them or you with the issue. You end up investing time and emotional energy replaying the past or rehearsing the future, but never quite present. - You do not have to stay stuck. I believe you can experience restoration and freedom.

Grief occurs in many ways. Losing someone you love, perhaps a spouse, partner, or child. You don't know who you are anymore because of job loss, a breakup, or divorce. Unfortunately, your friends and family aren't helping. They don't know how to listen to you and don't allow you to feel how you truly feel. Instead, they try to fix you, or solve your problems for you, using TV advice. They just don't understand what it's like to be in your shoes, or they don't care to. You sense they'd rather not hear about it. Nothing's working but you know you deserve support.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
